How much is it for my dog to stay at HAFH? 

• Our rate is $50/day 

What payment methods do you accept?

• A 25% deposit is required via Venmo (@Kim-Russell-79) or PayPal (houndawayfromhome@gmail.com ) to make any reservation of 3 days or more.
• Payment of the balance is due upon Check In, the day of arrival.

My dog hasn't stayed there before, do you require a meeting before he comes to stay?

• We do not require a meet and greet before your dog spends the night. We do ask that you give an honest assessment of your dog's temperament.  We do not accept dogs who are uncomfortable or aggressive around other dogs. If your dog arrives and shows signs of this you will be asked to pick him/her up immediately. We are happy to refer you to a more appropriate option.

Can I come and check the place out?

• I understand you will want to see where your dog will be staying, however, having someone come to the door and/walking thru the designated dog areas around here can cause quite a stir (imagine how excited your ONE dog gets when someone comes to the door!) Visitors are disruptive to our entire household. So in lieu of an in person visit a video tour is available for your viewing pleasure on our Facebook page.

What will my dog do all day at HAFH?

• Our day starts at roughly 6am with a trip outside to potty and stretch our legs. Then, breakfast is served, and everyone rests for about an hour to digest before it's back outside for some fun in the large, one acre fenced yard. Once everyone has had the chance to burn off some energy we come back inside for some lounging in the dog room. We go back outside for another romp in the afternoon and again in the evening after dinner. We go outside to play EVERY day, rain or shine. Being outside with lots of space is a huge stress reliever for dogs whether they like to just wander around and sniff, play a game of fetch or play tag with the other dogs. This guarantees that everyone rests well in the evenings. Bedtime is between 9-10pm.

I read that you offer pick up and drop off services. Does this cost extra?

• In an effort to decrease business traffic up and down our shared driveway, we do offer pick up and drop off service as part of our daily rate (no extra charge) for customers who live in/around the Hamburg area.

What are the pick up and drop off times and how does the daily rate apply?

• Being a small home based business we do offer some flexibility in pick up and drop off times, this can be determined at the time of reservation. We do recommend however that your dog arrives in the AM of their first day. This gives your pooch a chance to settle in, play/exercise and get familiar with the other dogs before bedtime.  
• If your dog checks out by 10am on the day of his departure there will be no charge for that day.

Is there someone on premises the overnight?

• Yes. Since this is our home, you can feel secure in knowing that there is someone here overnight, every night. 

Where does my dog sleep at night?

• Your dog will rest comfortably in a size appropriate crate at night.

Do I need to bring food for my dog?

• Yes. We ask that you bring a ration of your dog's regular diet so they do not experience tummy upset. Ideally, we ask that you put your dog's food in a Ziplock bag with his name on it. There is no need to supply dishes, bowls or measuring cups as we have ample on hand and it is easier not have to keep track of individual items for all of our guests.  

Should I bring his favorite blanket?

• We supply everyone with a blanket for their crate at night so bedding is not something you need send along with your dog. If you do choose to do so, be aware that I do not do laundry for other people's items. It will be bagged and sent home. 

Should I bring her toys?

• Please leave your dog's toys at home.  There are bins full of all sorts of toys for dog to play with here.

Do you give my dog a bath before going home?

• An exit bath is certainly an option for your dog before he goes home, however, there will be an extra charge for this service.  The price will vary depending on your dog's size, coat type, etc.
